HIV Testing and Counseling
Your doctor or clinic can test you -- but many people prefer to be tested anonymously or confidentially.
At a confidential testing site, you must give your name, and it is kept on record. The record is not open to the public, but it does exist.
At an anonymous site, you do not have to give your name, but you provide some other information (such as your birth date) which you can use to obtain the results.
Outreach provides both confidential and anonymous counseling and testing. Our HIV counselors will discuss with you your behaviors which may put you at risk for HIV infection, and help you make better choices about how to avoid becoming exposed to HIV (if you are negative) or how to avoid infecting others (if you are positive).
