June 27, 2007 is National HIV Testing Day!

Your doctor or clinic can test you -- but many people prefer to be tested anonymously or confidentially. At a confidential testing site, you must give your name, and it is kept on record. The record is not open to the public, but it does exist. At an anonymous site, you do not have to give your name, but you provide some other information (such as your birth date) which you can use to obtain the results. Cost for the test at Outreach Community Care Network is $20.00, and results are returned within three to five working days.

Testing kits are also available which allow you to collect and ship a blood sample for testing, in the privacy of your own home, such as Home Access, among others.
